Feature on Family – Family, Business and Momming
Girl, can I be honest? My family is my entire world. I know yours is probably your world too, but I wake up thinking about them... I go to sleep thinking about them… God has blessed me with an amazing husband who believes in me and supports me. I am so thankful for my two boys - I try daily to give them the best life and opportunities to succeed.
But I am also a people pleaser. I struggle with saying no to events, things to do, etc. I always try to make everyone happy, do as much as I can in a day…the list goes on. But, like most moms, I often make mistakes and I fail.
Lately, I have been over tired and exhausted from working so much. My attention has been pulled in so many ways and I am forgetting to be patient.
You know what though? God has reminded me to take a step back and focus on what truly matters. He has reminded me to slow down and take the time to take care of myself and my family.
In His perfect timing, a friend recommended a great book to me to help. It is amazing how an author can sometimes just hit the nail on the head. That is exactly what has happened with the book I have started reading called, The Best Yes, Making Wise Decisions in the Midst of Endless Demands by Lysa Terkeurt.
She really seems to be able to get to the heart of the issue and has a lot of great words of encouragement for me to focus on the best things in life.
If you struggle with this like I do, it’s a must read.
I’d love to know if you have any great book recommendations, especially if they’ve helped you overcome a similar season in your life!
